[Solved] 09 Honda Pilot vibration when cold

I have a 2009 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD with 80,000 miles. When the vehicle is cold and you put it in forward or reverse and you have your foot on the brake the motor vibrates and makes a slight growl (hard to explain the noise). If I let the vehicle idle for a few minutes and warm up then put the vehicle in drive or reverse the vibration and noise doesn't happen. Any idea what's wrong?

Can you make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here?

The first thing that comes to mind is to check ALL your engine mounts, front and rear. The vehicle is 12 years old. It may have one or more mounts that are degrading.

Engine mounts seem fine. This sounds more like a transmission issue

The transmission has mounts, as well. It's worth a look.

You were correct! Thanks for the help. My local Honda dealership was working on it for a few other things and he said the engine mounts are starting to wear out when I mentioned what was happening.

Thanks for the feedback. Happy to help.

They ended up changing the timing belt and tensioner and that fixed the problem.
