On my 1972 Monte Carlo the air conditioner works but it seems to only really work on high speed with the other speeds it will turn on and blow cold air but it only seems to push out some air at high speed. Compared to a modern car it would be equivalent to the low speed LOL is this normal on these models I've read yes and no and I'm trying to figure out if I need a new blower or something else is wrong with it

On a 50-year-old car certainly the blower motor and resistor are suspect. There could also be debris like deteriorated foam insulation blocking airflow.

Heater blower resistor at the very least.
