hello sir, i just started following on your channel and it gave me so much inspiration and knowledge about cars. Your massive experience and expertise in your field is insane. I am here to ask two questions. Firstly, I am going to buy 1979 Lincoln Continental Towncar with 87000 KM for 9K and i have another option which is 7.5K with 140,000 KM, ( link: Lincoln Town Car - Samochody Osobowe - Otomoto.pl ). Which one you think is a better option for me and how can i check if they are showing me the honest product or not, as you know, it is hard to know if someone is being honest or not. What are the some things i have to look in the car so they can not make me fool. Thank you in advace)

I hope your intent is that this will be a weekend toy rather than a daily driver. It's way too old to use on a regular basis unless you plan to spend a lot of time wrenching on it yourself. (Most mechanics will not touch a car that old.)

You need to have a good mechanic check the car out before purchase, but you may find it difficult to find one that can deal with a 45-year-old Lincoln.

Have a mechanic check it out if you don't know what you're doing. If there's underbody rust, forget about it. I have a 1979 Pontiac Catalina, I bought from my father-in-law for $750. It didn't run and sat for 5 years. I've fixed it up to the point where I can drive it 52 miles back and forth to work two or three days a week. I know a thing or two about cars, though, and I can problem-solve without resorting to mechanics most of the time. When that car's rear main seal went out a couple years ago, I knew what the problem was and I took it to a professional mechanic. I wound up having to school him about replacing that seal -the mechanic was in over his head. The car is older than he was. I enjoy working on cars. If being a shade-tree mechanic isn't your thing, I would only drive it seldomly. There's too much that can go wrong when you're talking about a 45-year-old car.
