Hey Scotty, I just got this 1980 Ford F100 that was running just fine for a day till I got home, I suspected it was the solenoid since i hit that a few times to make the car start one time. So i went and bought the part and replaced it, But now it just cranks but doesnt start, it is a old vehicle with many old parts, but what do you suggest to check out first and foremost before i start replacing stuff that might not even need to be replaced?

Check out the site FAQ section on diagnosing starting problems.

You can do a quick test by spraying starting fluid into the intake and cranking the engine. If it doesn't fire up you have no spark.
