Should I buy this 1985 Toyota Camry

Hi! I have found a 1985 Toyota Camry in beautiful condition. I ran a Car Fax and that looks beautiful as well. I have not test drove it yet. The dealership selling it is asking $5895 for it which I think is a bit high? Also can I still find parts for this vehicle should something break on it? It has 106,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Way too high priced for a car that's just a few years shy of 40 years old. Just what kind of dealer is that? Most that are even halfway legit (if that word can even be used in the same sentence with "dealer") won't have cars on their lots whose age is measured in decades unless they specialize in classics. A Camry of any age is not a "classic". CarFax is not a reliable indicator of anything beyond perhaps true mileage.

Do you do your own mechanical work? Most mechanics today will not touch anything that doesn't have OBD2 diagnostics. Are you prepared to deal with the needs of a car that old, such as most or all of the rubber parts being shot if still original?

good question. Contact your local parts dealer, or check online.

The price is absolutely absurd. They should be paying you to get rid of it.

Dealer?  Forget it.

$5895?  Is this a joke?

Carfax?  Scam.
