Scotty, I had given up on getting a new car without major mark ups, to the point that I threw $25K into a CD to wait it for 6 months and hope for a better market. BUT I was on the internet and there was click bait because google KNOWS I'm looking for a Camry. "BUT again," I found a 2024 Camry LE for $$27,964. There is a $350 to $500 out of state registration fee. With taxes and fees takes it to about $30,800 out the door. I have to drive 2 hours to get it. I put a $500 deposit to hold it. What do you think of this deal? I can't attach the pricing sheet they sent, or I would.
MSRP $26,420 with mats and mud guards
Port installed options $449
Delivery fees $1095
Total price $27,964
Good deal? 🙂
Dealer information has been removed, we're not here to promote sales of any particular dealer or sales person.
As far as the deal you got, if there were no outrageous additions like $5000 "protection packages" or huge "market adjustment" fees, etc., you probably did OK. The port installed options are a ripoff but the dealer has no control over those. Your only option there would be to try negotiating them down to dealer cost. (Toyota still uses an odd distribution system they set up in the 1960s where there are independent distributors for different parts of the U.S. The distributors will add garbage at the port before delivery which is charged to the dealer, and the dealer then marks that up to the customer.) Also, I would expect delivery fees to be included in the MSRP.
Others here may be able to provide more input on that since I'm not a new car buyer and find the price of just about anything new to be outrageous. (What you paid for that Camry is more than I've paid for every car I've ever owned over the last 50+ years put together.)
By the way, with appropriate browser addons and using alternate search engines you can evade those annoying ads that follow you around "knowing" what you're looking for, so you may want to check into that. I never see any of those at all but hear people talk about them all the time.
Yeah, I'm sorry I wasn't trying to break any rules and thanx for responding. Just trying to help others not get ripped off.
Port installed was only $449 and I've seen some over $1000 so not bad and can't be removed. Delivery charge is set. Dealer installed mats and mud flaps I want because they are quality floor mats though pricey $299. which makes the MSRP $26,420.
I think it's a good deal much better than my local dealer. I called them and asked for a quote for the same 2024 LE out the door and I'm waiting on their email.
Doesn't sound too bad, especially considering some of the crazy dealer markup horror stories out there.
OK this now. The local dealer Turnersville Toyota said they would match the other dealer price.
A couple small items on his contract are different. But MSRP is the same $27,964.
No long list of dealer installed, the same port installed. No mark up in price because they say it's worth more.
I really didn't think I could get a Toyota at MSRP. I think I'll buy it.
