1990 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 305 Idle Issue

The car has trouble at idle and accelerating. I don’t know what all was done to the car and I can’t get rid of it I just need it to run good again. The car has no trouble starting but after a few seconds the rpm’s get low and sometimes it’ll stall. I reset the iac valve, replaced alternator It has new fuel filter, and plugs and wires. I don’t have any experience with carburetors but i’m thinking it could be an issue.

If it's carbureted it could well be the carb needs attention after 32 years and exposure to ethanol-contaminated gas. (Actually the same would go for fuel injectors.) However it could also be a clogged catalytic converter, a vacuum leak, or an internal engine problem. On a car that old I'd probably do a compression test first just to make sure the engine is OK inside. You could also check for OBD1 codes.

First thing I would do is deal with the veritable snake pit of vacuum lines in the engine compartment.  I'll bet at least a couple of them are leaking, cracked or broken, then, check for properly functioning EGR and PCV valves.
