Hi Scotty and Moderators:

I have always enjoyed the videos, website and have used all advise I can.  I have owned a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix LE with 3.1 V6 Automatic and have become quite versed on taking care of most issues and understanding known problems with the car.  The car is in pristine shape and has been very reliable so it is like part of the Family and it is my daily driver.  However, there is an issue I have not been able to crack which is the headlights not being as bright as they should.  I have replaced the battery, alternator, tensioner and have check all grounding and circuit without joy.  I was able to remedy the issue by replacing all bulbs with the most powerful Sylvania ones.  One detail is that when I set the turn signal or apply the brakes, I notice a bit of a fluctuation on the intensity, not much but noticeable.  Not sure where else to look.  I use the car a lot at night.  Please advise and thanks!

Regards,

Bobby

Find/tighten all ground straps on the car.  You might have to replace some corroded ones.  You can verify this pretty easy if you have a multimeter.  Neg dmm lead to battery (not chassis) and measure voltage at battery.  Now measure voltage at headlight positive with lights on. Should be same within about 100mv.  If not, bad wiring, check light switch and fuse box connections (these connections get hot and increase resistance often).

If same voltage, put DMM positive lead on headlight ground...if ya got voltage here...ya got bad ground(s).

Thanks, I have tried some but not all. Will do this weekend and post results. Thanks!
