I'm having a hard time finding an automatic transmission for a 1994 Toyota 4Runner V6 RWD A/T. I did some digging and found the transmission to be an A340E which is in a multitude of Toyotas, Lexus, and Volvo! Say if I got an A340E from one of these vehicles would it work? What if it was of the same generation 4Runner? Would it work in a Toyota truck from this year? What should I look out for?

Well being that old I would assume you could get any of those transmissions and it would work. Modern cars. Just all kinds of computer controlled technology for them but those old ones did not. But you might ask a transmission expert on Toyota. So if he's ever done it for any tips about what years may or may not fit with the same transmission mount setups
