Hey! Car in title is being sold for under 5k (dealership) and has just a hair over 100k miles. Was the car of a grandma who is no longer with us. Was driven modestly and stored in garage. Looking at the car soon and hoping for advice on what to look for. Also, could I talk them down? The price is more than manageable but I still want to get a good deal.
First make sure that the mileage is real. Besides that, those engines have timing belt which at this age and mileage needs to be done, if it has nor been done recently. Also, look for oil leak in the valve cover gasket and check the engine for oil sludge. About the price, it is too much for an old ES300.
+1 @yaser
Way too much money for an almost 25yr old car.
If you’re planning to daily drive it, I’d look for something a little newer.
If you like the car, are sure you get it inspected thoroughly by a professional mechanic, before purchase. Check all that needs fixing, and then deduct that from your offer.
All the best!
