I don't think so if you have to pay that kind of money for the repair. Have you verified the head gasket problem? (It is very common on that engine.)

That's a temporary band-aid at best that might not work at all and might plug up your cooling system. It might (or might not) get you down the road a few more miles.
You'll want to get some other opinions on a decision like this but I'd be very hesitant to put that kind of money into a 25-year-old Eldorado.
