Hello, car shifts hard from 1st to second gear. Transmission Fluid is ok and at correct level. does changing the shift solenoids will fix this problem? I already tried lucas transmission fix but it still remain the same. Thanks

You'd have to take the transmission apart to even be able to tell and its just a guessing game otherwise and absolutely not worth it on a car that old. Personally I'd drive it until the trans goes out because you're looking at spending far more than the cars worth to even replace it or rebuild it. Just keep driving it and you'd be best off starting to look for another car to replace it when does finally go. Hate to hear it but its a 98 so there's not going to be much you can do for it since its so old. Save the money you would spend fixing it and find something newer. Whenever you do go looking for a new car check Autotempest.com to find the best deals.

I agree with above, just leave it...  Dont change the fluid too, the old clutch material in the fluid is probably holding it all together.
