I have a 1999 Lincoln Towncar with the 4.6 v8 and 118,000 miles. There is a clattering sound coming from the engine ONLY when the engine is at temperature, when the engine is under load (in drive) and when accelerating. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone know what it is and how to fix it, any help is appreciated.

Well often that is worn timing chain and that's valve clatter predetination. But if you tune it up with new spark plugs and filters, maybe that's making it fire incorrectly. That'd be the cheap fix
