2000 Honda CR-V preventative Head Gasket Replacement

Hey Scotty,

I have a 2000 Honda CR-V 5-Speed AWD with almost 200K on the clock. Should I replace the head gasket and cylinder head bolts while I am replacing the timing belt, water pump, and seals? I change the coolant almost every year with Honda Genuine. It's not having any of the typical blown head gasket symptoms, but I'm planning on either driving this thing for another 200K or giving it to a relative in a few years.

Leave the head gasket alone, if it’s not blown..

And why are you changing your coolant every year? Is it getting dirty that quick?

absolutely not. That's like doing preemptive heart surgery.
