Hi Scotty,
I have a 2000 Taurus that I need to keep up and running until I save up enough for a Toyota.
Right now, have a few problems.
1. After the car has warmed up, then shut down, sometimes on startup again, it wants to not stay running at idle and I get P1504.
2. When I check the transmission level when cold, it reads higher than max. Then when I check when it's been running and warm, it reads low. Should I add Lucas since it's slipping or should I drain it completely first?
Thanks for your help! Can't wait until I have enough for a Tacoma...
your tranny fluid could be worn out and foaming up. I would try replacing it before I start pouring goop in there.
I'll try replacing the transmission fluid, what do you think about the code?
The code is Intake Air Control Circuit Malfunction.
You're complaining about idle and the code points to a faulty idle air control valve.
Do a drain and fill on the transmission fluid and see what happens. You may be surprised.

I am not a mechanic.
My 2001 taurus tranny was a bit harsh so on a hunch I put in Dr. Tranny Fix. Only two ounces and it smoothed right out.
$10 at the store.
Maybe it will help, maybee not.
