Hello,
I recently purchased a 2000 Toyota Sienna, 190k miles, automatic transmission. Is there any maintenance specific to this engine (3.0 V6) or the older Toyota Sienna's in general that I should take a look at?
I'm planning on using this a daily commuter. I drive around 10,000-12,000 miles a year-- 35% highway, 65% city.
Here's what I've done so far:
-Tranmission fluid flush
-Oil change
-Spark Plugs/Wires
The car doesn't have any current mechanical issues, or engine codes. It idles great, and the transmission shifts smoothly.
Thank you!
Clean IAC, as it tends to carbon up. Do this when you start noticing idle changes. Was the biggest issue I had on this engine/vehicle. Easy to clean with some patience a screwdriver, 10mm and carb cleaner. Was a very reliable vehicle for the wife and a top vehicle that we've owned re: minimum maintenance and issues (actually the IAC was the only issue ever had as I recall).
