2001 Buick Century - overheats on steep hills

I recently purchased a 2001 Buick Century with 190,000 miles. (The purchase price was $1200 -- probably should have paid $800 but I bought from a newly married college couple and didn't mind giving them a little extra.)  My brother is a mechanic who builds race engines and convinced me to buy it -- he loves Buicks from that era since they are cheap to buy, cheap to repair, abundant, and will often go 250,000 miles or more.  Plus they have a Cadillac-type ride.  So far... he's been right!

Like my brother anticipated, the car runs extremely well but I've noticed that when I go up very steep hills, it will start to overheat. During normal driving the temperature gauge is just about at the quarter mark, and when going uphill it will rise to the half-way mark.  But going slow up steep hills that's when it starts climbing (pun intended). Do I need a new fan? A new radiator? Or???  I think my bro' is getting tired of me asking him endless car questions!

Change the radiator they're cheap enough that's often the only problem
