Corolla Le with 82k miles , i bought it from a used car lot with 78k miles on it for 5 grand. A few days later the check engine light came on, p0770 shift solenoid e, it went off by itself but it always comes back. The CEL will be on for 2 days and off for a week or so and then repeat. I dont notice any problems with the transmision , i mean it shifts like one with 80k miles on it should , what could be causing the code ?

They get old things wear and trip codes if it shifts okay leave it alone I've seen many get those codes come on and off as long as it shifts okay leave it
