I have a 2001 toyota camry CE automatic with 170,000 miles. The feature that locks the doors when you put the car in drive stoped working. All of the locks work when you use the lock/unlock button. But the doors don't lock when you put the car in drive. What could be the problem?

The obvious possibility is that there is probably a switch activated by the shifter that has failed. (You are dealing with a nearly quarter-century old car after all.). It may be integrated into the neutral safety switch. Either that or you have a problem with the electronics that would take a dealer-level scan tool to diagnose.
You can find a repair manual for your car online at charm.li which may help.
I would try to re-program it before I spent money to fix it...look in your owners manual for instructions on programming..
