Hi, I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla that runs near perfect. Only has 80k miles on it. It has an oil leak and the mechanic told me it was a blown head gasket. The only thing is that its leaking oil from outside the engine. It does not have milky oil or leaking antifreeze or over heating problems. I dont think it has a blown head gasket but perhaps its the timing chain tension thats leaking the oil. Is the mechanic assuming without knowing? any thoughts?
Well to find out exactly what's leaking do my video finding the source of oil leak Scotty. And really if it runs okay and you have good oil pressure guys live with that for years
If you are able to get some U V dye, put it in the oil, run the engine for a few days and the dye will show up under black light and tell you where the leak is.
Find another mechanic who will actually find the source of the leak and tell you the truth.
