Just purchased my used Honda Accord for pretty cheap $700 as we had to replace brake lines and will need in the next few months to do the fuel lines as well. Other than that getting your recommended cheaper scan tool to check codes and need to replace a hood latch. Anything else you recommend doing on this car so it can have a long life still. Miles are around 180,000.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord with 270K+ miles. Same generation.
1) Make sure to check the condition of the timing belt. If it hasn't been changed recently, and it looks like it is cracking, make sure to change it out. (Change out the water pump, tensioner, and balancing belt while you are at it.). This is a typical maintenance item for this car.
2) Check the condition of the drivers side door latch mechanism inside the door. And maybe replace it if it looks like there is significant wear and tear. I had mine go out on me, and they are known to go out for this generation. I was crawling out the passenger side until I got it fixed.
Other than that, this car is a relatively resilient car if you take car of it.
The usual: Oil change, refresh the power steering fluid, ATF fluid exchange (drain and fill), coolant flush or drain and fill (check the radiator for potential cracks and leaks), thermostat.
Additional preventive maintenance: An OEM radiator cap (to keep the pressure constant and allow coolant to do its job) and an OEM gas cap (to prevent EVAP codes).
If you haven't before purchase, check the motor mounts.
Good luck.
Its a Honda, It can last a very long time if you keep up with maintenance. Since you just bought it its a good idea to inspect everything to see if there where any previous issues.
