Had this little pickup for almost a year, bought it from the original owner in September of 2020 who kept it pretty good shape. Prior to me buying it for $3,000, He had already had the top end motor rebuilt, a new clutch and a few other miscellaneous small parts. For the past few months since summer hit, my clutch has been grinding a bit and especially down shifting into 2nd gear. It does grind upshifting to 2nd gear sometimes and rarely into 3rd, but mostly 2nd gear. Feels like it's not fully engaging all the way for when my foot is fully depressing the clutch to the floor. I try being gentle and it's fine when it's cold, but it continuing to happen during the heat and after it warms up. I'm 26 years old and I've been driving a stick since I was 17 years old. What could be causing this and would it be best to have a shop fix it and a warranty attach or fix it myself? I do have a couple of tool boxes full of basic mechanical hand tool and some power tools, but no experience working on transmissions. Mostly suspension, engine hardware and brakes.

I would say try to get a new master cylinder and a new slave cylinder bleed the air out and pray that fixes it. If not you're going to have to pull the transmission and put a new clutch in which is doable watch my video on how to replace the transmission clutch and you can do it if you got jack stands in a jack a lot of time

Thank you, I will give it a shot.
