So I'm planning on selling my old 2002 Nissan Frontier 2.4L this coming spring after I get my taxt returns. I'm wanting a fun car of under 150k miles & under $10k. I'm debating between Acura RSX Type S, Mazdaspeed3 or Mk5 VW Gti. Something to have as a fun daily driver & canyon carver/autocross ride. I'm a definitely a euro fan, but I'm open to some Japanese cars under 20 years old.

Acura by far. Definitely skip the VW. Their quality is awful and you're looking at getting an older one with mileage already on it. Pass.
