I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra with 305k miles. It's been a good sturdy vehicle. Recently my power steering pressure line has cracked and I am spending a small fortune on keeping fluid in the system. I looked into the cost of replacing the line and I honestly don't have the money to pay someone else to do it and I don't have the time. Could I remove the belt from the pump and just drive it as if it were a manual steering box vehicle? I am afraid to drive it too much because I worry fluid from the pressure line will get to the exhaust and cause a fire. Is that a legitament concern? Luckily I don't use it much these days because of Covid work from home life. Thanks in advance. Always enjoy your videos!
sure if you're strong enough you can disconnect it and drive with no power steering people have done that for years it doesn't hurt anything
