I have a 2002 Acura RSX 182000kms. For some reason my radio has been whining and I noticed it gets louder when I accelerate. What could be causing this issue

That's frequently caused by a bad ground on the radio.

It’s usually faulty or cheap spark plug cables or distributors. It means there’s arcing

Good suggestions above or a cheap phone charger. Try unplugging that first.
Good point. This has happened to me.

It's an alternator whine. The whine will increase in pitch as you accelerate. Could be a bad alternator or possibly a bad ground. There are kits at electronics stores that'll substantially reduce or eliminate the whine, also. This is usually a "trial and error" process to find a solution.

Get a car audio noise filter from Amazon or Ebay.
