2002 Acura RSX High-Beams Not working

Hi Scotty, I bought a 2002 Acura RSX with 178,000 miles and has a manual transmission. I have an issue with my high beams. I placed new LED bulbs and when they turn on they are bright for a second and get dim and stay dim. However, when I put regular halogen bulbs they don't turn on at all. Low-beam lights are perfectly fine with both types of bulbs. The battery is new and I've checked the fuses and they are all good. I checked the voltage at the high-beam plug and it reads 13.5v when the car is running. Any ideas on what to do?

Check it under load. I had a similar problem with a headlight and as soon as you put a load on the plug, even a test light rather than a meter, the voltage plummeted way down.

What could cause that issue that as soon as it happens the voltage would drop?

In my case there was a connector where the headlight plug wiring connects into the car's wiring harness that had developed corrosion. Cleaning that up fixed the problem. So you may have something similar going on, a bad connection somewhere in the wiring leading up to the headlight plug or in the headlight plug.

What could cause that issue that as soon as it happens the voltage would drop? I also checked nearby ground wires and they appeared to be in good shape, visually and by tugging on them.

I'll try that out, thank you for the guidance! I'll post if I find anything.
