2002 Toyota Camry Cold Start Wont Go Into 4th

I live in Minnesota. My girls dad and I changed my transmission fluid. More than a gallon came out, but we only put a gallon back in. I have more fluid, but I do not want to over fill it. On warmer days and at operating temperature, it still transitions like a clock. But on those cold start days, it doesn't want to go into 4th until its had like 1 or 2 accelerations to warm up. I have been checking dip stick and adding 1/5 a quart at a time and am trying to get it back into the low-high range for the warm markings on the dipstick, and I think its getting better, but I am not there yet. Any suggestions?

keep adding until the fluid it is at the right level.

It's 18 years old so tranny could just be worn out. You could try some thickener additive to get you by until you find a new car.

It does not seems to be a very bad issue. Live with it.
