Hello everyone I am looking to buy a new car relatively soon and I want to buy a brand new car that will get me through college and then grad school. I like to drive relatively aggressive and would like a manual car. For a good mix of both spirited driving and reliability my sights were set on the 2020 civic SI but I am very concerned about the future reliability of the 1.5L earthdreams as I live in Ohio and it gets decently cold in the winter. The other car I was looking at was the 2020 civic sport with the 2.0L 4 cyl engine & manual transmission. Does anyone have any insights into this or could recommend another manual car in the 20-28k range? Thanks so much!
Civic Sport?
Not as speedy, but you could tune up the suspension or other add-ons later with the money you save.
Mazda MX 5 Miata, Fiat 124 Spider. Both built on the same Mazda assembly line in Japan. Civic Si OK for a 4-door sedan, 205hp 6-speed manual.
For the price range you got you could probably go for an accord lol but if you like the looks of the civic SI or sport, they both should be fine, newer cars typically have gone through the usual torture tests and then some. If you like to drive aggressive, be carful of pretty much any accident, things are made of tin, my 2015 civic was totaled after a T bone at 15 mph on my front passenger side. Overall if it's getting chilly just make sure to use the right viscosity oil and it should be able to power through. Let the engine warm up from cold start too before thrashing with help with said reliability.
Since you're an aggressive driver, buy something that won't set you back too much when you wreck it.
Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE, 6-speed manual. Period.
F.S.
if ur driving manual get the 2L civic naturally not si for longevity
if i were you id look for a good used car. you could potentially get them alot cheaper just because manual transmission are less desirable
says this one has no accidents and only 32k miles for $15000+tax. Much cheaper than brand new
Here's a stunning color-combo (interior feels like that on a German luxury brand that sells for 60K) on a vehicle that stickers for 29K with a very reliable naturally-aspirated engine:
(If you go for the sedan instead of hatchback and not choose this $300 color option, you're knocking $1300 off that sticker to below 28K).
