Should I change my ATF

Hi Scotty.  I have a 2003 Camry with 75000 miles. Automatic transmission fluid has never been changed.  Is it worth changing now given the age of the car or should I just go off  miles in which case it should be due for a change?

Sorry I do mean the auto transmission fluid. I just saw a post from Scotty on YouTube that the auto transmission can slip in old vehicles if never been changed but that car had more than double the mileage. That's why I don't know whether to go off mileage or age?

At 75,000 miles, go ahead & change it after reading this article -

If you don’t change it and continue to drive it, you know the transmission is going to wear.

If you change it now and find the transmission is already worn with 75,000 miles on it, that does not say too much for Toyota transmissions.

With the miles that low, it sounds like the vehicle has spent more time in the driveway and the garage than on the highway over the last 18 years or so. Transmissions don’t wear out from sitting in the driveway. Seems like it would benefit from new fluid

I don’t consider myself much of a mechanic, but I’m just trying to reason this thing out.

Good advice, thank you

If you talk about the ATF, change it.
