2003 Toyota Corolla - Engine noise

Hello everyone!

I have a 2003 Corolla with 140k miles on it. No check engine light, manual transmission.

The noise can be heard in a specific range of RPM (specific throttle position) or during acceleration, where the throttle position that actuates the noise changes exactly proportional to increase in RPM.

The noise gets better as the car warms up, where it can barely be heard in the summer time. Performance is not affected.

Ive tried different oils and different additives with no change.

I can't hear it, if it goes away as it warms up or in the summer it could be a number of things, probably valvetrain.

If it's not broke, don't fix it. You'll be chasing sounds like a dog chasing its tail but unlike the dog you'll be wasting money.
