I'm replacing the AC compressor, accumulator/drier, orfice tube, AC line, and AC refrigerator line, and condenser because the compressor imploded (metal bits in the orfice tube and all refrigerant leaked out).
My question is how much PAG oil do input in? The Denso compressor I bought says it is precharged with 1.5 oz, but the sticker on my truck says that the system should be charged with 9 oz.
The service manual says I should put in 2 oz equivalent to the inlet line of the accumulator/drier and 1 oz to the condenser.
How much PAG oil should I really put in the system?
Assuming you're starting with a clean system where all old oil has been purged (evaporator flushed), the total added should be what is indicated on the engine compartment sticker, minus what is already in the compressor, distributed among AC system components.
Be sure to use the oil viscosity specified by the compressor manufacturer.
@chucktobias Well that is not how much should go into the compressor. 9 ounces is the entire system not how much should go into my new compressor. I found on the denso youtube channel it should be 35% of the entire system so about 3 oz.
I did not say to put 9 ounces in the compressor, the oil is spread out into various components. 3 oz. for the compressor sounds reasonable.
