Ok so Im new to lexus, and I bought this car as a fixer upper a few years ago and im tired of it sitting. The main issue is I let a friend work on it who was supposed to be good at the 2jz engine. He messed it up I had have a new head put on it. Now when I drive it, it slings oil all over the inside of the hood and engine compartment in line with the belt. If I idle it it will not do it but when I drive it, it will spray the oil. Im leaning towards the vvti oring, I really would like some more info since Im so new to Toyota engines.  Like it says in the title its a 2003 Lexus IS 300 with an Auto 2jzge engine and it has no codes.  I am alot better with electrical problems, and mechanical issues with Chevys and Hondas. Any ideas will be very appreciated.  I can also provide pictures if needed.

well since it didn't sling the oil until after that head was changed I'm assuming something is wrong there could be that oil seal. To find out the exact location of the leak do my video finding and fixing car oil leaks.you use UV dye in the engine oil and a UV light and yellow sunglasses you can get cheap kits for that and you'll always find where the lead comes from by following the green or yellow glowing dye

Lol Idk why I didnt think of that!  Thank you I will definitely try that!  I use it all the time for AC work. I agree also I think he put the head on without changing cam seals. But what gets me is my belt cover doesnt show oil all over it. I was all thinking put a camera in there.  Thank you again. Ill update yall.
