V6 as well. Dealer is asking for $4K but I'm thinking of countering at $2K. What would you offer? How long do they usually last?

that is way over priced, I do buy and sell cars. and I sold the same one (2003 highlander 125000miles) for 4300$
250k miles is a lot of miles you should get it for 3000. I would assume he got it in the auction for 2000-2500$ that's from my experience.
Usually they should last for 300k miles or even more

Check and see how long the dealer has had it (website?) If they have had it a while the dealer may be more willing to take lower. I think your counter is fair - 250k is a lot especially without service history records. I'd go 3k max and of course have a mechanic check it out , too.
