I have a 2003 Toyota Solara, 4 cylinder and automatic transmission with 164,000 miles. The transmission has recently started hesitating when cold and it is shifted into Drive. By hesitating I mean it acts like it is in neutral for a second or two before engaging into first gear. Is it time to look for another car or is this something that can be easily fixed? Thanks.

change the fluid and add one quart of Lucas transmission anti-slip to see if it helps if it doesn't time to look for another car
