Hey Scotty,
I just got a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pre runner with a v6 and automatic transmission. It has 175,000 miles and is in great mechanical shape.
My question is, should I change my automatic transmission oil?
I don’t know if it’s ever been changed and I’ve heard bad things about changing auto fluid if it’s never been done after a long time.

Clarification: How does the fluid look? Does it smell burnt? Any metallic particles embedded? Any shifting issues?

1st check the condition of the fluid. If it is not to bad change the filter and fluid. Save the old fluid just in case the transmission does start to slip.
