Hey everyone,

I have a couple issues with my first car but I don't know where to start. Before going into too much detail, first a little about myself. I am 16 and I am crazy about cars. I've been doing an internship at a car garage for 2 years now but I by no means are a true mechanic. Anyways, a couple weeks ago I purchased my first car, a 190K miles 2004 Acura TSX with an automatic transmission. The only real problem with it was the steering pump was leaking (which turns out to be common for those cars), the battery was leaking, and it was idling rough but not too much. The first thing I did was scan the car prior to buying it and the only code that caught my attention was 112-1 and 61. Both seem to indicate something with the battery. Next I checked the throttle body and gosh was it nasty. So I took out the air box and hoses from the throttle body and cleaned everything. Next I cleaned it a bit. The interior was absolutely filthy and I just had to get it deep cleaned. I wanted to take out the seats to clean it even more, so I disconnected the battery since the seats have airbags in them. It took me a while to clean because I wanted it to be perfect. The car sat with the battery disconnected for around 6 hours. When I put the seats back in and reconnected the battery, the check engine light came on along with the VSA light and warning triangle. The engine light code was p0340. I just replaced the battery hoping it would help but other than starting better, nothing else changed. I am completely lost and don't understand or know what to do at this point. Any ideas as to what is going on and what I could do? I do not have much money and I hope this isn't all that bad.

Thank you in advance.

Code P0430 is for a bad or disconnected cam position sensor.

I realized that. But can this really happen immediately after disconnecting and reconnecting a battery? As far as the VSA light, any idea why those showed up?
