Hi Scotty, love your channel. I am looking at a 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition Sport Utility 4D with 235,000 for $5,500 OBO from a private dealer. I am looking for my first car. The owner says that the starter drags every so often, and that there is a small surface hole in the 3rd row back seat. Is this a good deal or will I get ripped off? Is there anything that I should look for on those Ford Expeditions? Thanks for any help you can provide. 🙂 /p>
What a pile of junk. The 2000s Expeditions themselves where decent at most but with so many miles (and inevitably so many issues), it won't be a good car.
The price is laughably ridiculous. I wouldn't even consider until we get below the $2000-2500 range, and even then I would say put some more money and get a better vehicle. Edmunds puts the starting value of that car at $800 and in absolute best condiiton low miles etc. highest price is $3500.
Also that is huge for a first car.
To summarize my opinion, this is the funniest joke I have heard all day:
"Yes, I should buy this 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition Sport Utility 4D. This is a screaming good deal."
@kerem thank you. I figured it was a POS but I wanted to ask.
Don’t take his word for it. If you’re considering it, have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase.
Who knows what else it needs, it’s a 17 yr old vehicle.
Oh and I wouldn’t even pay half of what the seller wants for it, in its present condition..
no, no, no....not a good vehicle and waaaaay to high a price. $1k is all I value that. They're just trying to capitalize on the high prices because of the pandemic.
For the kind of miles I would value around $2000. Check with the mechanic to see to if it's in good shape. Don't expect to last very long.
