I purchased my 04 Honda Accord 2.4l with 124k miles. Been treating it like gold ever since. Currently has 154k miles and I’m wondering if I should do some drain and fills for my automatic transmission? Or how can I find out if a refill was performed before me? Thank you
What does the fluid look like?
Not black but fairly dark red. I just know people say it could damage an automatic transmission changing it that late but I’m hoping the owner before me did as well
What you could do is save the old fluid in a clean container just in case there are problems. No one can guarantee what's going to happen though when you change fluid in an 18-year-old transmission with an unknown service history.
