2 previous owners Preowned bought 5 years ago at 120k
Now 180k 2004 mitsubishi lancer es 2.0l
Srs light is on after hitting a pot hole. Light has never came on before. I do have knowledge about what srs is which includes all the safety features of the vehicle and supposed to be active to deploy airbags seatbelt tension and so so forth but unsure why it came on.
Is there a list to check to diagnose this srs error in the vehicle.

Check the seat sensors first. The next thing to look after that is the SRS system control unit.

Scan the vehicle for stored airbag codes. Then please post them here.
It could be a lot of things, including old wiring, in an almost 19yr old vehicle..

Sounds like the pothole could have loosened a connector somewhere.
