I have a 2004 Matrix 1.8L with at around 208,000 kilometres i suddenly noticed that it had a misfire i don't know what cylinder it is the car computer didn't give me a diagnostic code and i am unsure on what could be causing the misfire the misfire is very noticeable at speeds below 80km/h during reversing or idling or even driving at low speeds ?

Since it isn't giving you a misfire code, what are the symptoms? Vibration at idle, poor acceleration, poor gas mileage? These things can be caused by other malfunctions than a misfire.

Use a scan tool and have the car scanned. An "easily noticeable misfire" should show up informing which cylinder the ECU detects as misfiring.

I used the scan tool but the ECU didn't store a code hence i am not able to see a code

@dat_crazyboy Codes are just the beginning of the diagnostic process. Have you analyzed live data for problems?

what parameters should i be looking at the live data ?

@dat_crazyboy Anything suspicious such as fuel trims out of whack, misfire counts, sensors not operating correctly, etc. It's not possible to cover all the possibilities here but you can find a lot of instructive videos and articles via an internet search.
