I have to replace the car my son drives. Last one was in a wreck and totaled. I'm debating on letting him drive my truck and picking up a 2005 4Runner with 112K on it for $11,500.
It's not the price I want but I need a 3rd vehicle. Thoughts on that particular year? Anything i should look for? I am no where near capable of more than looing for leaks, rust, rot, mismatched paint etc.

The top issue with that model year 4runner was frame rust, so you’d have to get underneath and carefully check for that. Otherwise, if it has been well taken care of in terms of service history, it can still have a lot of life left.

That's my main concern. I had my dad's Tacoma from around that year and it was crispy underneath.
