Good afternoon!

I have a question regarding my 2005 Acura TSX.

It has 289,000 Miles on it, and it has the 5 speed Automatic Transmission.

I saw a recent short video from Scotty saying why driving fast is good for the engine of the car, and I was wondering if I could still bring the engine to do that with this mileage.

I know it's a honda so I know it's dependable, but I wanna make sure nothing goes wrong if I test it. Especially considering that it has the VTEC technology in the 2.4L 4-Cylijder engine, and that the car has most likely not activated VTEC in it's 289,000 miles.

Thank you very much!

I always thought VTEC just worked and was based off RPM's?  So within those 289,000 miles, it is sure to have worked.

Oh okay! Yeah it seems I had a misunderstanding with the VTEC technology after I read your response. I researched on what it does, which it tells me that it combines low-RPM fuel economy and stability with high-RPM performance. Thank you very much!

Assuming everything checks out with the car, I don't see why a 2005 Acura TSX couldn't cruise at legal freeways speeds.
