Topic starter
I have a 2005 Avalon with 153,800 miles with the original coolant thermostat. Vehicle still is running cool. However, I have been considering replacing the thermostat. When looking at the thermostat housing, it appears that the drive belt tensioner needs to be removed to access one of the bolts to the housing in order to replace the T-stat. Is this correct or not. Seems like it was engineered to make replacement of the T-stat more difficult.
Thanks,
Jim B

Yeah it's kind of a pain in the butt changing those they made him kind of poorly but if it's not overheating I'd leave it alone I can last forever
