Hi Scotty, I hope you can help me. Yesterday while replacing my front struts, I managed to punch a hole in the cv boot. What are my options? Replace the cv assembly, patch the hole, whilst hoping not too much grease has leaked out, or use a split boot to replace the one I punctured, I can't tell if if it will even fit my.highlander, and because it would be coming from England, I would probably not get my money back, if it doesn't work.
Thanks in advance,
Shane.

How bad is it .. did you take a photo?
I would probably just patch it with flex tape or something
I took another look today, and it didn't look as if anymore grease leaked out. The hole was tiny, so I think I can get away with the flex tape.
This evening I put the tape on, and I will check it again tomorrow, after it has cured for 24hrs, see how it looks.
Perfect! Let us know if it leaks again after a week. Use good quality tape so you don’t have to keep resealing the hole.
I didn't take a picture, but a little bit of grease did come out. I stupidly drove it to test the new struts, so probably didn't help my situation either. The whole isn't that large, so maybe I can get away with tape.
Thanks for the fast response. I appreciate it a lot👍
When I got my 08 Highlander had a small tear outer boot at the small end at the axle shaft. I patched it and it lasted a little while, but eventually replaced replaced the axle while I had the whole front end apart when replacing lower controls arm and struts. You just punctured the boot so who knows how long it can go.
