Hey I jus bought a 2005 Suzuki Every Wagon it's like a mini mini van it's super cool, so I bought it the dealer tells me they only use synthetic oil in it, every site I got to looking for parts and such say to not use synthetic oil in it, I talk to my dealer and asked if they would do my oil changes as long as I figure out what oil and filter it takes so I did, told them explained what I read up on and they would have thought of using synthetic aswell since it's a turbo, I know nothing about oils or anything I jus want to know are they using that type due to our climate here east coast Canada where it came from Japan I don't know I need some guidance cause I want this vehicle to last as I got it to deliver the mail
say to not use synthetic oil in it
Can you post links here?
to me it sounds bizarre.
Synthetic oil should be better for a 657cc 3 cyl turbo.
Never herd of any issues with synthetic oil on K series engines
(Although I mostly saw the larger 1.2 (Baleno, Celerio, Splash,..., and the Opel Agilia) , 1.5 (Jimmy, Vitara mild-hybrid), 1.6L (S-Cross, SX4, Liana, ...) and the lovely Turbo Direct Injected 1.0L and 1.4L (Vitara, 2023 SX4 Crossover))
Also, don't forget that Suzukis require valve clearance adjustments, and unlike a Honda, Hyundai or Toyota - when you neglect doing that on this engine, the valves do get ruined.
Also watch out for the glorious K series timing chain, they stretch easily.
And lastly, when turbocharging an engine with an aluminum block - oil consumption is not uncommon, and if your one consumes oil (given the tiny oil capacity, it) should be monitored very closely.
