I bought a used 2006 F-150 5.4 Triton Fx4 a few years ago. It has an automatic transmission. It currently has 150,000 miles on it. I have no idea if any maintenance was ever done on the transmission. Should I at least change the fluid on it? I have heard I should not flush it but I had one mechanic say unless the fluid has been changed in the past, it shouldn’t be changed.

Well your mechanic is right if I owned one I would change the fluid every 50-60,000 MI.but if you have no record I would not mess with it now because changing fluid at 150 for the first time could make it start to slip
