- Hey Scotty!
I have a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 petrol with 100 HP, it has 90k miles, automatic transmission - My problem is that when I’m going on highway around 70-80 mph the automatic transmission shifts from the 4th gear to 3rd or even to 2nd gear without any warning then shows “transmission failure” and then shifts back to 4th, it happened to me more than often. I’m not sure if it had transmission fluid change ever (I’m the 2nd owner) in self diagnostic menu reads DTC error D900
- Any idea what could be the problem?
- Thank you!
Other than that the car runs fine 😀

D900 is a communication issue either computer module or wiring problem. You could have a pro check it and pray it is something to do with the transmission electronics modules are wiring and not that the transmission is starting to go out. Transmissions are extremely weak on those slings and it may very well be going out

Thank you for the quick reply!
First I took it to the Ford dealership but the prices were too high even for diagnostics so I found another automatic transmission specialist to whom I got an appointment at the end of the month and we will see what’s wrong with the thing!
I really hope it’s going to be an easy fix tho...
