Is a 2010 Mustang GT a reliable car to purchase in 2024? Vehicle is being sold by a reputable dealer. Vehicle has 83,500 miles. Single owner. Automatic transmission. Serviced regularly at same Ford dealer since purchase in 2009. Extensive carfax documenting service history. Oil changed every 3k miles. No accidents or major repairs. Asking price is $14,900.
Aside from 90k mile recommended service estimated $1500, are any other costly issues likely to occur?

Scotty usually answers questions once and doesn't revisit them. The main concern with 'muscle cars' like this is that drivers tend to drive them much harder than they would a typical car. Scotty's advice on dealers is spot-on because they will tell you anything to sell a car. It's good that the car has documentation of oil changes but if a young person owned this car the odds are in has been driven hard. Dogging a car is rough on the car. I have several Mustangs that leave an intersection near my house(at least 4). I witness these Mustangs leaving a nearby intersection on a regular basis. Unless slow traffic is slow in front of them prohibiting their fast and loud acceleration, they all hammer the gas when they leave. You need to have a seasoned, experienced mechanic inspect this car for you.
I'd consider passing on this one. I have a 2017 V6 Mustang that I bought brand-new. It has 30k miles on it. I put it through its paces, and I use my 1999 Ranger as a daily driver. The car's driver averaged 6800 miles a year, I average around 4800. It was most likely stored in a garage as the original owner's baby who never took it out in the rain -my step-dad has a 2022 Mustang GT, it never sees rain, he drives it once in a blue moon and he's always hammering the gas pedal.
Well depends on what shape it's in. I don't care what dealers say. They're selling you stuff and they lie like dogs. Pay a mechanic like myself to check it out before you buy it. Do not trust the dealerships. It could be a decent car if some old man drove it. But money are the guys drive like a maniac .They drive the heck out of them and everything is going to be worn out quick
