I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton V8 with automatic transmission. The truck has just recently started to drip a few drops of ATF fluid. It shifts okay and no other problems. 175,000 miles on the truck.
I recently serviced the transmission by a good mechanic before the leak. This was six months ago.
Any ideas?
Thx,
Dean

where is it leaking from? What was serviced?
pan: snug up the bolts
tailshaft: normal. Keep adding ATF. Or replace seal if you like.
cooler lines: replace the o-rings and spring clips. They wear out.
torque converter/bellhousing: this is a problem.

- I can't say for sure but almost always when it's leaking fluid like that it's the rear main seal. To fix that is a big job, what did the mechanic do? Just a fluid change? My suggestion is find the leak, where exactly it's coming from, maybe something simple like the drain plug. If it the main seal, I would just drive it for as long as you can and add fluid. Since it's only a few drops it wouldn't be worth taking the tranny out to reseal.
