Hi Scotty I'm trying to replace my broken driveshaft but can't get the piece connected to the rear to loosen. Everytime I try, the tires turn.

You need a good impact wrench. Make sure the large nut is not staked to the pinion shaft before trying to remove. If that's not the case, you need to put a bar of some kind into the u joint to lock it in place while you loosen the nuts.
